Mont Rochelle is a stunning 26-bedroom hotel and vineyard just under an hour’s drive from Cape Town in the town of Franschhoek in South Africa. Franschhoek is a traditional vineyard town in the Western Cape Province famously known as the French Corner of the Cape and is considered to be the food and wine capital of South Africa. With our doors re-opened to South African residents on 21st August for weekend getaways, we are so looking forward to welcoming you back to Mont Rochelle. Safety remains our top priority. From adhering to local laws to putting in place meticulous new cleaning measures, you can be assured that we will go above and beyond to ensure our guests have complete peace of mind and trust in everything we do.

ACCOMMODATION

Mont Rochelle is open year-round for visitors, and our 26 rooms and suites can be booked for any length of stay. You could even hire Mont Rochelle exclusively if you’re planning a party, a wedding, or just a special occasion.

SHIRAZ ROOMS  – There are four Shiraz Rooms with king-size beds and all feature courtyard or valley views.

MERLOT ROOMS  – Our six Merlot Rooms are larger than our Shiraz Rooms and also boast king-size beds with valley views.

CABERNET ROOMS  – The six Cabernet Rooms are located in the Vineyard Wing and all include a private terrace overlooking the valley.

PINOTAGE SUITES  – There are four spacious Pinotage Suites located in both the Manor Wing and Garden Wing, each of which features a separate lounge and fantastic views.

CAP CLASSIQUE SUITES  – Guests staying in our two largest rooms, our Cap Classique Suites, will enjoy a separate lounge area, a private terrace, and their own plunge pool. Both suites are in the Vineyard Wing.

MANOR HOUSE

Just a short walk from the main hotel building and a stone’s throw from our winery, the Manor House is the newest addition to Mont Rochelle. This beautiful four-bedroom villa can be booked for exclusive use and is ideal for families or small groups looking to escape to the Winelands.

Alongside the four beautifully appointed suites and children’s bunkroom, guests can make use of their very own private kitchen, living room, two swimming pools, and gym. Manor House is available for exclusive hire all year round.

DINING

There are two restaurants at Mont Rochelle. The Country Kitchen which joins up to our wine cellar is an ideal place for a light lunch as well as wine tasting. Or if you’re after something a little more formal, MIKO is our flagship restaurant boasting a prime location, with impeccable 180-degree views over the Franschhoek valley and surrounding vineyards and mountains. Start the evening off with a refreshing cocktail from our bar and find a comfy space on the terrace to watch the sunset.

The Country Kitchen – Now Open At The Country Kitchen, savor the beautiful surroundings of the Mont Rochelle estate as you sample the hearty and fresh dishes the restaurant offers which are all made with locally sourced ingredients. Or explore the estate with a gourmet picnic for two which showcases delicious South African fare and award-winning Mont Rochelle wines.

MIKO – Now Open for Drinks & Snacks MIKO’s cuisine is best described as a taster of South African favorites with each of the seasonal dishes telling a story, using the freshest most local ingredients, which pair beautifully with our award-winning wine list. With its covered terrace, you have the option of dining alfresco all year round.

Weddings at Mont Rochelle We’re no stranger to hosting weddings at Mont Rochelle. Our picturesque location at the foot of the Klein Dassenberg Mountain Range is the perfect setting for your special day. We have a range of locations for both ceremonies and your reception. Perhaps a private picnic for two with a bottle of Cap Classique to celebrate, or a more formal affair in Miko, our main restaurant, or both! Our priority is you, your partner, and guests, ensuring your big day is exactly as you dreamed it would be and more.

SPA

Immerse yourself at the Spa at Mont Rochelle. Our philosophy is all about listening to the body and designing a treatment that responds to your specific needs. We have worked with Africology to create a unique experience that we pair with signature Mont Rochelle treatments. Africology is an eco-friendly range of products, made entirely from essential oils and natural plant extracts.

Massages – Indulge and unwind with our ‘Bespoke’ or ‘Little Rock’ massages.

Treatments for Two – We have selected a number of treatments that support the Kusasa Project. At least 15% of the treatment price will go to assist their work promoting academic, sporting, and life skills for underprivileged children in the Western Cape.  Our couple’s treatment, Devotion’s Journey, begins with a ceremonial lighting of a candle that symbolizes the pledge of unity and love followed by a Swedish inspired full body massage with the use of aromatherapy infused oil or balm depending on your specific needs.
