qualia offers guests the indulgent choice of one-bedroom Windward or Leeward pavilions, each with breathtaking views which blend harmoniously with the rare, natural beauty of the island and provide an indulgent space to relax and unwind. Or, there is the uncompromising luxury and privacy of the one and only two-bedroom Beach House, with its own guest quarters, private lap pool and inspiring views.

Windward Pavilion

The north-facing Windward Pavilions offer expansive, postcard views of the Coral Sea and Whitsundays. The beautifully appointed pavilions feature a living room, separate bedroom with a king bed or twin on request, ensuite and offer the added indulgence of a private plunge pool.

Leeward Pavilion

The south west-facing Leeward Pavilions offer you a serene outlook of both the Island and the Coral Sea. They boast a private sundeck, which is the perfect place to capture the warmth of the sun during the day and amazing sunsets at dusk.

Beach House

For something truly special, experience the Beach House at qualia for the ultimate secluded hideaway. With a main bedroom and ensuite, spacious entertaining area featuring a large flat-screen TV with surround sound, a 10-person dining room, a private full-sized swimming pool, as well as a separate guesthouse, the Beach House is an indulgence like no other.

Pebble Beach – Pebble Beach restaurant is located by the water’s edge and is qualia’s signature dining experience. The Executive Chef’s passion for fresh and seasonal Australian produce with an Asian influence is reflected in the menu. A six course Tasting Menu is a culinary celebration and one that can be exquisitely paired with matching Australian and international wines. Journey to the Heart: In a world-first, qualia guests can now experience unprecedented access to the iconic Heart Reef lagoon in the Great Barrier Reef, with the launch of ‘Heart Island’. The journey to Heart Island involves a 30-minute scenic helicopter flight over the Whitsunday Islands and Whitehaven Beach before approaching the Great Barrier Reef. After arriving at Heart Island, guests can expect to board a futuristic glass-bottom boat, especially designed and customised for Heart Island, before making the short journey to the Heart Reef.

Palm Beach Luxury Cruiser: The coral cays, tranquil beaches and sheltered waters of the Whitsunday Islands are moments away from qualia, in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef. Guests can take the helm of a yacht charter, or sit back and relax aboard qualia’s private charter motor yacht, Palm Beach 55, exclusively reserved for qualia guests. GETTING THERE

qualia are located at the edge of the Great Barrier Reef on the secluded northern-most tip of Hamilton Island, just a short distance off the Queensland Coast.

It is easily accessible with short daily direct flights from Australia’s east coast international gateway cities – Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane or Cairns, or, by ferry from Airlie Beach.

Situated in the Whitsundays, the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef are right on qualia’s doorstep. Its sun-drenched northern aspect provides the ideal location to appreciate the passing beauty of each day, surrounding you with some of the most stunning and spectacular waters to be found anywhere in the world.

Nearest Airport: Hamilton Island Airport is located just south of the marina, a convenient five minute transfer from qualia. The airport’s 1764 metre single runway is privately owned and operated catering to private jets and air charters, along with locally operated helicopters, light planes and seaplanes with prior approval.

(Regional charter flights are generally organised from Mackay, Proserpine and Airlie Beach).

Hamilton Island Airport also offers the nearest heli-pad to qualia for public access.

(The onsite heli-pads at qualia and at Dent Island are only used for drop off and pick up by Hamilton Island Air. Access to these 2 heli-pads by any other helicopter is strictly by special request and will be taken into consideration by the airport authority).

For pilots flying to Hamilton Island, whether on a commercial airline, private plane or helicopter, there are several important regulations to be aware of, particularly the requirements stated in ERSA regarding parking aircraft. Long term parking is available at the aerodrome, however space is limited, and approvals must be obtained in advance.

Hamilton Island Airport is a domestic airport without facilities to clear international flights. All international guests will need to pass through an international port and clear customs before arriving at Hamilton Island.

Aviation fuel is available at the airport, and the schedule of fees and charges includes landing and passenger service fees. Ground handling, aircraft servicing, marshalling and baggage handling services are provided by local operators.

Hamilton Island Race Week: Hamilton Island Race Week is one of Australia’s favourite yachting events and a firm fixture on the international sailing calendar.  Every August, spectators and yachties from around the globe sail to Hamilton Island to participate in Australia’s largest offshore keelboat regatta. 

It is a perfect week-long event for family and friends to come together and enjoy the convivial atmosphere both on and off the water. 

Hamilton Island Golf Club: qualia guests are invited tee off at the Hamilton Island Golf Club – the only golf course on its own island in Australia, offering some of the most spectacular views of any course in the world. The 18-hole Peter Thomson-designed championship course located on neighbouring Dent Island, includes a practice aquatic driving range, putting and chipping greens, golf tuition, pro shop and a stunning Clubhouse, offering fine food and wine with amazing views.
