Overlooking Narberth and the Preseli Mountains, The Grove is a luxurious 18th-century country house surrounded by meadows. This privately owned ‘Restaurant with Rooms’ has won recent National awards as the ‘Best place to eat and stay in Wales’.

Bedrooms at The Grove are beautifully decorated with ornate fireplaces and modern art. The large bathrooms feature deep iron baths, under-floor heating and designer toiletries. All rooms include a flat-screen TV and free wired internet. In-room massages are available on request.

The property offers two dining options. The Fernery restaurant offers an intimate dining experience offering a 3 course a la carte or eight course tasting menu option. The Artisan Rooms is a more relaxed dining experience and the menu has been inspired by the best of Welsh ingredients, expect grazing boards of Welsh charcuterie, artisan cheese, Welsh lamb and beef, and Pembrokeshire landed fish.

The hotel has stunning gardens for guests to explore and Pembrokeshire National Park is just 5 minutes’ drive away. Free parking is available at the hotel.

HOUSE 

For those wanting to be cocooned in the main house then there are 14 fabulous rooms and suites to choose from. This enchanting house is filled with many of the original period features that set the scene for a truly warm and comfortable stay in Pembrokeshire.

BLUE – There has always been a blue room at Grove and we are pleased to be able to carry on that tradition. This elegant room enjoys views over the sweeping lawn to our magnificent beech trees.

CAMPION  – The Campion is a charming room, with real elegance set in the eaves of the house. Its bed is framed with a stunning half tester in exclusive patterned silks with the room decorated in soft browns and purples.

CRESSELLY  – This enchanting suite in the eaves is simply perfect. Large windows dressed with lavish silk curtains enjoy dual aspect views over rear garden terrace, our little stream and meadow.

DANIEL & ELIZABETH  – Daniel & Elizabeth were once lovers at Grove.  This most extravagant and spacious of suites is tucked away on the top floor and enjoys triple aspect views to the Preseli hills and gardens.  An extraordinary space with vaulted ceilings, with a four poster super king sized bed within its own space with antique fireplace.  Large lounge area creating a gorgeous haven to relax.  Bathroom with extravagant double ended bath for you to soak with a book or a glass of wine, and separate monsoon shower.

DERWEN  – The Derwen is a cosy room tucked away in the eaves overlooking our ancient oak tree and meadow. Armchairs in the front window enjoy our best views across our rolling countryside to the Preseli Hills.

FENTON  – Inspired by the early travel writer Fenton who referenced Grove in his travel book ‘A historical tour through Pembrokeshire’ published in 1811.

HANOI  – A sumptuous room inspired by the owners’ many trips to this remarkable place. It is richly decorated with an eclectic mix of crimson pink silk curtains, traditionally styled wooden furniture and wonderful Vietnamese lacquered artwork.

PARTRIDGE  – Set away privately in the eaves of the house, this room enjoys leafy south-facing views across the rear terrace and its relaxing water feature. This intimate room is beautifully decorated with softly textured wallpapers and the original Georgian fireplace.

HENRY’S  – Cosy room with original Georgian Fireplace decorated in duck egg blue, flocked browns and gold. Beautiful en-suite shower room with large monsoon shower to dwell.

PIPIT  – The Pipit room has a timeless elegance decorated in soft blue tones with cream French furniture and antique fireplace. Twin or super king room with small armchairs in the window overlooking our lawn and meadow beyond make it a supremely comfortable.

REBECCA – A magnificent suite with double aspect views across the rear terrace and gardens. Plush velvet headboard and half tester frame an indulgent super king size bed.

SEDDON  – The master bedroom of the house named after its architect, overlooking our front terrace with splendid views of the Preseli hills. Imposing four poster bed and period details, including an antique ceramic fireplace, set the mode perfectly.

TEMPLAR  – This characterful room is inspired by the Knights Templar who have a strong association with the Narberth hills. It is charmingly set in the eaves which create lovely spaces with views over our meadow.

GRASSHOLM  – The Grassholm room overlooks the front lawn with fabulous views of the Preseli hills. Beautifully furnished and decorated in warming yellows, reds and greens with luxurious sofa to the end of the bed.

POYER’S COTTAGE

Poyers Cottage which was possibly built in the 16th Century is set just to the side of the main house. This cottage offers two delightful suites that are full of character and original features enjoying the benefit of small terraces overlooking the rear gardens. The Bramble suite on the ground floor is accessible from the main house.

BRAMBLE  – The Bramble suite is located in this characterful 16th century cottage house which still has many of its original features. On the ground floor it is also fully accessible from the main house.

ELDERFLOWER  – Set in the loft of our quaint 16th century ‘Poyer’s Cottage’, this romantic suite nestled in the eaves is accessed via steps from its own private terrace. Beautiful oak rafters, exposed masonry walls and antiques fill the room with character.

BAILIFF’S COTTAGE

This cottage set just apart from the main house is the original building on the Grove. Built as a traditional longhouse it was owned by the Bailiff of Tenby in the 15th Century. The cottage now contains four characterful rooms, some of which have small private garden terraces overlooking the rear garden for you to relax outside.

BYRE  – On the ground floor of our original 15th century longhouse, this room opens out through a beautiful oak door to a private terrace overlooking our gardens and mature trees. The room is full of character with exposed stone walls and original arrow slits.

CWTCH  – Cwtch means ‘to cuddle’ in Welsh and this room is aptly named. A characterful room, warmly decorated in reds, yellows and pink with oak French doors opening out onto a wee little terrace overlooking our meandering stream and gardens.

PRESELI LOFT  – A sumptuous loft room set in the eaves of this 15th century longhouse. You are welcomed by its beautiful traditional exposed oak frame and masonry walls. Tastefully decorated with fabulous wallpapers, soft Welsh contemporary fabrics and local artwork.

MEADOW LOFT  – Gorgeous loft room in this 15th century longhouse is perhaps the quietest of our rooms. Traditionally crafted oak frame and masonry walls and tastefully decorated in soft pastel blues and creams. Enjoys a private terrace overlooking our gardens.

HERB COTTAGE

The Herb Cottage Suites are set within our grounds just 100 yards from the main house.  The cottage suites all have stunning views of the Preseli’s hills.  Four of the suites have private south facing gardens for you to idle away the hours.  These cottage suites are truly the perfect retreat from the world. The flower beds that surround these cottages are filled with soft perennials offering a delightful display throughout the spring and summer months.

LOVAGE  – This garden suite is the largest in the Herb Cottages, perfect for those wanting extra space to truly unwind. Vaulted ceilings with beautiful oak A-frames in the lounge and bedroom spaces impress and its sumptuous bathroom with double ended bath offers pure indulgence.

VERBENA  – Lovely cottage loft suite set in the eaves and accessed via masonry flight of steps enjoys magnificent views of the Preseli Hills. Spacious bedroom with squishy sofa to relax.

ANGELICA  – Spacious cottage loft suite accessed via masonry flight of stairs enjoys magnificent views of the Preseli Hills. Set in the eaves this magnificent suite has a few surprises to make the perfect romantic hideaway.

SORREL  – This delightful garden suite is the perfect hideaway. Vaulted ceilings with beautiful oak A-frames in the lounge and bedroom spaces. Sumptuous bathroom with double ended bath and separate monsoon shower offers pure indulgence.

THYME  – Spacious yet cosy garden suite creates the perfect bolthole. Set across two levels this suite is full of character with exposed stone and oak beams .Delightful bedroom with doors leading out into your private garden with terrace.

SAGE  – This spacious cottage garden suite is perfectly formed offering a truly intimate romantic retreat. Oak French doors open from both the bedroom and lounge onto your private south facing garden terrace bringing the outdoors inside on a warm day.
