ACCOMMODATION

All of the public rooms at the castle are on the first floor. There are bedrooms on the ground, first and second floors. All of these are accessible by lift though some are more suitable than others for guests who have difficulty with stairs. The castle has good facilities and access for the disabled. Please ask at the time of reservation if you require these facilities.  There are seventeen guest rooms at Glenapp Castle. All of these rooms are individually designed and lavishly furnished and equipped to the same high standard. They are priced according to their location in the building, their views, and their floor area. Many of our rooms have superb sea views. Our ground floor rooms are beautiful rooms which face the garden and woodlands are generally priced less than our first and second floor rooms with a sea view.

MASTER SUITES WITH SEA VIEWS – Experience the height of luxury in the largest and grandest rooms at Glenapp Castle. Wake up to sweeping views across both the surrounding estate and the stunning seascape overlooking the iconic Ailsa Craig. The Master Suites are traditionally furnished to reflect the opulent history of the castle and provide the ultimate experience for stunning 5 red star luxury castle accommodation.

GRAND SEA VIEW – Countess of Inchcape and Ailsa Craig are our premier second-floor 5-star accommodation. Both are large rooms with beautiful sea views. The stunning panoramic sea views across to Ailsa Craig, the Isle of Arran, and, on a good day, the coast of Ireland makes waking up in these premier second-floor rooms an absolute pleasure.

GRAND GARDEN VIEW

The Dial Room – Located on the second floor, this room is both spacious and luxurious, looking out across the front courtyard and up towards the Estate’s woodland. The Dial Room certainly provides a unique castle experience. 

Garleffin – With both sea and garden views this bright first-floor room with its cozy bathroom is ideal for a shorter stay. 

Knockdolian – Being the largest ground floor room with lovely garden views, Knockdolian works well for families and those wanting a bit more space.  Ballantrae  – As a spacious ground floor room with excellent garden views, Ballantrae is a little bit of a hidden gem within the Castle.

GARDEN VIEW – These cozy yet luxurious 5-star rooms are all located on the ground floor and have lovely garden views, with the exception of Auchencrosh which has a courtyard and woodland views. There are 6 Garden View rooms available at Glenapp Castle all traditionally decorated to highlight the charming history of our castle.

JUNIOR SUITES – Situated in the East Wing of the castle these two suites offer a refined luxury fitted with stunning bedrooms and separate sitting rooms they are ideal for longer stays. With double sofabeds in the sitting rooms, Bryce and Hunter are also a perfect fit for families with one older child or two small children.

CASTLE PENTHOUSE APARTMENT – The Apartment has been in the planning for more than two years and aims to become Scotland’s finest Castle Apartment. The Endeavour combines traditional Scottish baronial style with plenty of modern luxuries to create a sumptuous and truly welcoming, home from home. Spanning across 4,000 sq ft, this elegant four-bedroom apartment sits high above the West Coast of Scotland, offering extraordinary views of the iconic Ailsa Craig island, the Isle of Arran, and the Mull of Kintyre.  In addition to the four stunning bedrooms and bathrooms, The Endeavor features a media room with seating for 12, and a separate library and games room. The lounge and dining room, and adjacent period kitchen, can seat up to 16 guests, making it perfect for feasting with friends and family. Plus, you’ll have a private chef and personal butler at your beck and call throughout your stay.  The apartment also includes a sauna, treatment room, and private access elevator. Our team can put together a 4 night / 5-day Sea Safari adventure, it is a totally personalized itinerary.

This 4 night / 5-day Sea Safari adventure includes two nights in a sea view suite at Glenapp with a three-course gourmet dinner in the evening and a traditional full Scottish breakfast each morning. Guests will then be transferred to our local harbor of Girvan to start their spectacular sea adventure which includes two nights of luxury glamping on the stunning island of Jura with a full board of breakfast, lunch, and dinner each day as well as all refreshments and wines. Each Sea Safari is totally bespoke and will be tailored to our guest’s specific interests and wishes and can be extended to include a few additional nights at Glenapp either before or after their time at sea.

Once at sea guests will have the opportunity to explore numerous islands such as Ailsa Craig an iconic volcanic plug, Islay with several whisky distilleries, Gigha with the famous Boathouse restaurant and gardens as well as Colonsay and Oronsay, and the MacCormaig Islands. Their island home for two nights will be on Jura where a private luxury glamping site will be prepared for them. Glenapp is so much more than just a hotel with fine dining, we have an Activity and Experiences Programme that offer a full ‘destination experience’ for your guests. Currently, we have 65+ indoor and outdoor different experiences on offer. And a lot of unusual ones also!  From perfume making, archery, stargazing, foraging, fishing, mountain biking, falconry displays,  and even the opportunity to finesse one’s Scottish fiddling skills – there really is something for everyone. Furthermore,  as of this year, we have introduced several brand-new activities which include ax throwing, coasteering, yoga, kayaking, digital detox, canoeing, and forest bathing!
