Set on a privileged stretch of land above the bay of Paradisio, this villa is a luxurious five bedroom residence with spectacular views that extend all the way to the neighboring island of Tinos. The design of the house was dictated by the stark Mykonian landscape and vernacular architecture. Based on these principals, the architect created a three-leveled clean-lined retreat, carefully designed as an amphitheater for summer living. Wide decks wrap around the house, allowing for a sequence of views from different platforms and sight lines. The upper deck features two semi-closed, shaded spaces that serve as the main dining and lounge areas, while the swimming pool area is located on the lower deck.

The façade of the house is pierced by numerous openings that allow for unstoppable views of the landscape and minimize the boundaries between indoors and out. To maintain an air of simplicity, the interior materials were kept to a minimum. Whitewashed walls and light colored wooden floors and ceilings create a perfect backdrop that brings out the colors of the sea and sky that are visible throughout the house. Upholstery fabrics echo the muted tones of wood and stone, relying on a few ornaments for accents of color. The overall effect is elegant and witty, contemporary and deliberate yet at the same time relaxing and cozy. The living spaces are furnished elegantly with comfortable designer furnishings and antique pieces that create an interesting contrast between the old and new. Carefully selected art-works have been casually placed around the house, adding a touch of sophistication.

The living area, dining room and kitchen are separated by tall arches that create a sense of openness and allow an effortless flow from one space to another. The living area comprises of two comfortable lounges that enjoy spectacular sea-views. The kitchen is fully equipped and designed to be open and closely connected to the living and dining areas, reflecting their muted tones in its silver-grey surfaces and wooden cabinets. Scattered throughout the three levels, the bedrooms, like the main living area, are furnished elegantly with comfortable designer pieces and colorful art-works that create an ultimately relaxing atmosphere.
