Château Grimaldi is a very beautiful 17th century residence in the purest Provencal spirit. This magnificent property owes its name to the Archbishop of Aix-en-Provence Jérôme Grimaldi-Cavalleroni (1597-1685) who made it his home from 1655 until his death in 1685.

At that time, King René, Count of Provence, lover of the arts and culture developed Aix en Provence and its surroundings to make it the capital of Provence. Today Aix-en-Provence is still a benchmark in the region. The ruins of the castle form the framework around which is inscribed the original chapel and the large country house which has been completely renovated and adapted to the needs of comfort, while retaining its luxurious character, its intimate charm and its history.

Proud of the local heritage, we wanted to preserve this exceptional site both in the residential part and in the garden and park part. The hundred-year-old oaks know the history of the estate by heart and keep precious memories of the place.

THE HOUSE: A LUXURY RENTAL FOR YOUR STAY IN PROVENCE

This charming building offers 600m² of living space on 3 levels which gives it unparalleled comfort and conviviality.  It has a majestic entrance, various lounges, a dining room, a kitchen and a library.  On the different floors, you can stay in one of the 11 rooms tastefully decorated and respecting the high luxury demanded by our guests. In addition, 8 bathrooms are distributed there.  For your entertainment, our house has a games room with billiards and a video area.  Everything is done so that you have a good time in our prestigious home. The authentic decoration and made with materials and furniture of good quality keeps the cachet intact of this exceptional Provencal building.  This is the reason why Château Grimaldi was elected by Vogue magazine as one of the most beautiful properties in the South of France.   

THE PARK: A GREEN SPACE FOR HOLIDAYS

The 5 hectare park contains wonderful gardens, an olive grove, an orchard, fountains and sculptures.  For the more athletic, a tennis court, a ping-pong table and a bowling green are at your disposal.  In a sumptuous setting with a view of the Sainte-Victoire mountain, the shaded terraces will welcome your moments of relaxation.  An area dedicated to the preparation of barbecues and grills will allow you to organize warm and friendly meals during your stay.  To take full advantage of the sunny afternoons, the magnificent swimming pool on the estate welcomes you. Equipped with sunbathing and parasol, you can lie down for a lazy moment accompanied by the cicadas. Fully secure, you can bathe in peace with the children.  The ruins of the old palace built in the XVIIth century by Cardinal de Grimaldi surround and protect protects an ornamental pond.  On the property you will also find an old chapel which is often used for religious events or concerts.

Regarding your relaxation and leisure, our country house has a games room with billiards and television, and for the more serious office equipment.  The decoration of the house is of a classic Provencal type, arranged with respect for tradition and always with the objective of perfection required by a luxury residence.  Outside, this unique place is the theater of games and activities for the whole family: a swimming pool, a tennis court, a ping-pong table, a bowling green and shaded terraces. Children can get lost at leisure in the shaded park.
